When prayer alone hasn't been enough

Maybe you have done the right things. You have prayed, served, believed. And still the anxiety returns at night, the old wound aches, the grief sits heavy. Secular therapy can feel like it asks you to leave your faith at the door. The church can feel like it asks you to leave your pain there. You were never meant to choose.

The koinonia way

Healing happens in relationship

Koinonia is the Greek word for deep fellowship — connection and shared life, all the way down. It's the foundation of everything here: care that integrates evidence-based, trauma-informed principles, biblical truth, and transformational prayer to address the whole person.

Compassionate care brings understanding — naming what happened and how it shaped you. Inner healing prayer invites God into those very places, where comfort and truth reach what insight alone cannot. Together, they make room for real, lasting wholeness — body, soul, and spirit.

“Cultivating healing and wholeness through authentic relationships — empowering individuals and families to experience freedom, discover purpose, and thrive in healthy connection with God, themselves, and others.”

Good questions

Before you reach out

Do you work with clients outside North Carolina? +

Yes. Koinonia Restoration House offers Christ-centered, faith-based inner healing and pastoral support online, serving individuals, couples, and families across the United States from a base in North Carolina.

What is inner healing? +

Inner healing is guided, biblically-grounded prayer that invites God into painful memories and wounds for comfort, truth, and freedom. At Koinonia Restoration House it works hand in hand with trauma-informed care — not in place of it.

Is this the same as seeing a licensed therapist? +

No. Dr. Dunn provides Christ-centered, faith-based inner healing and pastoral support, which is pastoral in nature and distinct from licensed clinical mental-health treatment. We are glad to work alongside your licensed providers and can offer referrals when clinical care is needed.

Who do you work with? +

Individuals, couples, families, and ministry leaders — including those navigating trauma, attachment wounds, relationship challenges, grief, life transitions, leadership stress, identity, and purpose.
